Is It Really Possible To Reverse the Signs of Aging?

Many people fail to do anything about preventing the signs of aging, until they start to appear. In most cases, the first sign of age, the first wrinkle or fine line, sends then running straight to their favorite cosmetics store, looking for any kind of anti-aging product that may be able to help them not only prevent the signs of aging, but undone those that have already appeared. Once arriving at your cosmetics store, after a frantic drive, you are likely to be overwhelmed by the vast number of anti-aging products that are there to choose from. How do you know which product is the most effective? Are they really worth spending the money? Are there better anti-aging alternatives? Your best bet here is to talk with your dermatologist, to find out the answers to all of your anti- aging questions, before you start delving into that bank account.

Your dermatologists can quickly tell you want you can do to help prevent and erase the signs of aging, and save you a lot of time and money. It would really be a trial and error process to go through all of the anti-aging products offered today, trying to find the most effective one that you can afford, and you may even find that in the process, new wrinkles and lines appear, making a distressing situation even worse. So, rather than go through all of this save yourself the trouble and schedule an appointment with your dermatologist today.

Your dermatologist will be able to recommend an over the counter treatment that will work for you, give you a prescription medication that may help, or suggest other options, depending on the severity of your problem.

When trying to purchase over the counter anti-aging products, you should look for one that contains alpha hydroxyl, other wise known as AHA. AHA has been proven to help rid the skin of dead cells, and help rejuvenate the skin by helping new cells to grow. AHA is also effective for taking care of wrinkles that form around the eyes and mouth, which is where the first signs of age usually appear. Products that contain Vitamin C, antioxidants, and Vitamin E are also effective at treating and preventing the signs of aging.

The one certain thing that you can do which will prevent future signs of premature aging and skin damage is to adequately work to protect your delicate skin from the harmful rays of the sun. Everyday you should wear a sunscreen that is capable of protecting you from UVB and UVA rays, and you should reapply it as needed throughout the day. Many people mistakenly think that they just need sunscreen when they are going to be outside for an extended period of time, but when it comes to skin damage and aging, you should protect your skin 24-7.

There are many ways of treating and preventing the signs of aging, and your dermatologists will cover all of the options with you, and help you make a decision taking into account cost of treatment, effectiveness, etc.
